  • High Performance Vehicle Rating - 2014 Ford Shelby GT500

My ratings are based on the intent of the car; a very high performance coupe. Those wanting cushy rides and, though it does have a great sound system, Nav, plug ins for all your electronics, that is not what this vehicle is made for. So, if you dont understand what a very if not ultra high performance coupe is, dont buy a GT500. You might kill yourself. That said, this car is extremely easy to drive, yet when asked changes modes from docile to screamer. It rides like a performance car even with the suspension set to normal. Obviously more harsh in track mode. Summary: Ford did a great job with this car. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who understands and enjoys very high performance cars.

  • One Awesome Mustang - 2011 Ford Shelby GT500

The Shelby gets noticed. I get lots of long and envious stares by young and old, male and female. The car is easy to drive. You really feel the road and the Shelby takes corners much like a sports car. The clutch and linkage make for easy shifting and you never feel like youre in the wrong gear. I like the way Ford has upgraded the interior over my 2008 Bullitt. Acceleration is scary and you need to be careful of how and when you use the power. The sound of the engine is cool. My neighbors have commented on how they love the sound when I start it up. I couldnt be happier with the car. It is truly one awesome Mustang.

I car sounds ridicously good gets alot of looks, butits kind of hard to drive in the rain especially going up hill. Car bounces alot on rough surfaces, but on smooth surfaces this car is ridiclously fast. On a tank of gas i can get up to 480kms on the highway and in the city if i drive fast around 270kms out of a tank. The car has had a clutch break down and replaced transmission bearings which ford fixed for free it cost 7300 dollars just in parts. They said they wouldnt have covered it but since it only had 10 thousandkms People either love this car or just dont notice it. On cornering the car feels realyl front heavy

  • Expectation shortfall - 2008 Ford Shelby GT500

I purchased the car about two months ago. I didnt test drive it prior to purchase and I will never make that mistake again. I have owned most popular sport cars in the last decade from a Z01 Corvette to a Porsche Boxster and everthing in between and this car has been the biggest disappointment. The NAV quit working after a week. The shifter buzzes in neutral with the cluth out and the whole car shutters when you shift into first gear and the tranny is hot. Took to the dealership and they produced a factory notice saying this is "normal" on some lucky owners cars. Not worth the money. Sad it didnt live up to the legend. Wish I still had my Mustang GT.

Bought the Shelby several weeks ago...very impressed...power to spare, great handling, inside is comfortable and snug...eats up the road

This is my fourth Mustang in three years. I thought Id start slow and cheap. First, 2006 V6, second 2006 GT, third 2009 GT500, now a 2010 GT500. I realized I lost a lot of money on the trade-ins, however, I love this car. Its so exciting to drive and people stare at the car. It looks meaner than any other of the previous GTs. You have to experience the car for yourself. I had a 2008 C6 Corvette, honestly, this car is much more fun to drive.

  • Sally is incredible - 2014 Ford Shelby GT500

Only two weeks old and 500 miles on the clock, but this animal is incredible. Getting on the freeway from the dealership after I picked it up,I wanted play with its roadholding, so got on it.....just a little...on a very tight 360 degree entrance ramp. Hugged the inside edge and looked at the speedo at the merge point of the freeway: 113 MPH and it was hardly breathing! The G-forces are unbelievable. People stare at it, give me thumbs up and smile. Ive had performance cars my whole life (including a Jack Roush built Lincoln MK VII with a 5 speed manual tranny and GT40 motor), but none of em hold a candle tot his. I need to re-read the complete owners at least 3 more times.

  • 2010 GT500, an owners perspective - 2010 Ford Shelby GT500

Having just moved from a 2009 GT500 to my new 2010 GT500 I was able to honestly evaluate the improvements made by Ford on this car over previous years. The car surpassed all of my expectations with regard to styling and performance. The interior is of much better quality and design with the new shifter garnering high marks. The suspension and clutch are noticeably improved over my 2009 and the car drives and handles much better. Fuel economy at 65 mph is an honest 22.3 MPG with cruise control on, and better than my V-6 truck!

I was one of a few owners that had a complete engine failure at 211 miles. It has been the greatest Mustang I have ever owned. I have entered it into 3 shows taking 2 thirds and one first place. It is a real head turner and eats Corvettes!

This car is more than all of the great things one hears about it; it is simply an awesome driving experience. The car performs beyond expectations, is very quick and responsive and when called upon, it gives the driver all the power he or she commands, without any limitation. One feels as much in control driving it 140 mph as they do at 50 mph. Although many criticize the plastic in the interior, having the interior upgrade gives you all of the leather you would ever want and I think the interior is quite sharp. The car is a true value for all of the tangible and intangible benefits you get from buying it. A true American muscle car pumping out 500 hp as well as being a thing of beauty.
